FAQ's

The Summer Program is a complex thing.  You probably have questions.  Please see the FAQ's below.  If you have additional questions, contact Regina Anderson at randerson@coro.org or Megan Walsh at programrelationsintern@gmail.com or 412-258-2688.

HOW CAN I RSVP?

  • You will receive an E-vite at least a week before each event. Please RSVP here.  If you do not receive the evite, please email randerson@coro.org if you would like to attend the upcoming event.  Please RSVP for each event that you would like to attend so that we can account for how much food and space we will need!  This is especially important for the events that require tickets.  IF YOU DO NOT RSVP, DO NOT EXPECT THAT THERE WILL BE A TICKET FOR YOU.

WHAT WILL {insert event} BE LIKE?

  • In each E-vite, we will detail each event as much as possible, from format, to special dress code, to activities.

MAY I BRING A FRIEND?

  • Yes! You may bring one guest to most events. You can bring a guest to the Service Crawl, Karaoke Night, Kayaking, and the Dodge Ball Tourney.  You will need to RSVP for your guest and they can pay $15 at the door.  If they plan on coming to more than 3 events, they can save money by paying the original fee of $50.  (See Individual Registration form)
  • For future events that require tickets, such as the Ducky Tour, and the Pirates Game, it will be up to the discretion of the sponsor.  There will be NO GUESTS for the Ducky Tour, to ensure that all registered interns can attend.  The guest policy on the Pirates game will be announced soon.

WILL THERE BE FOOD AT THE EVENTS?

  • Food will be provided at each event.  Some meals will be light, and others full dinners, but there will be always be something to eat.

HOW DO I GET TO THE EVENTS?

  • There will be directions or a link to directions in each E-vite, so please look there for more information.

IS TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED TO THE EVENTS?

  • Transportation is not provided to or from the events, however, we strongly encourage the interns to use public transportation.  We have created a Google Group around transportation and we encourage you to discuss carpooling options there.  Visit Interns Summer Program Google Group http://groups.google.com/group/interns-summer-program-2008

IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR THE EVENTS?

  • There is no dress code for any event.  Some interns might be wearing their work clothing because they may come straight from work.  The Trail Stewardship and Service Crawl events will require more activity, so dress comfortably!  The Kayaking and Dodge ball tournament will be more athletic, so dress accordingly.  Don’t forget to show your support for the Pittsburgh Pirates at the game against the New York Yankees!

HOW DO I GIVE FEEDBACK TO THE PROGRAM?

  • There will be a follow-up survey sent out after each event.  It will be distributed through an email link to all attendees.  We really value your feedback.  The only way that we can improve the program is if you tell us your concerns.  Please take a few minutes to answer the surveys.  Thank you in advance (completing it will also enter you into a raffle)!

WHAT WILL I GAIN FROM THE SUMMER PROGRAM 2008?

  • You will be able to network and interact with one another while sharing experiences at your own internship.  You will be able to meet new people and build relationships with other interns.  You may even hear from another intern about an internship that may be of interest to you for your next internship opportunity.  All nine events are extremely fun and will lead you to advantageous opportunities for the future!

WHAT CAN I DO TO ENHANCE MY NETWORKING EXPERIENCE?

  • Interns are encouraged to network with their fellow peers as well as some professionals from various companies.  Individuals from these companies are employed within the human resource departments and even some supervisors from the companies will attend and will be available to speak with interns.
